I’m a library para-professional in the Mid-Atlantic area with lots of opinions on media. I spend so much time talking books et al to anyone who’ll listen, I figured I’d save my breath by typing it out instead.
The types of books you’re mot likely to see covered here:
- Y A books for adults
- Adult books for teens
- Hardboiled mystery
- Literary fiction
- Popular-level Non-fiction, especially in medicine, sociology, and forensics
Music reviews will consider full albums rather than individual songs, and will mostly hit alt rock, prog rock, and novelty music. (Yes, novelty music.)
I’ll only talk about visual media with a smallish audience; after all, no one with a TV really needs to hear what I think about last night’s C.S.I.* So, you’ll see instead comments on old black&white movies, foreign films (French and Japanese in particular), anime, and costume dramas.
*Though speaking of, you sure can tell which episodes were finished before the writers’ strike and which were made without, huh? George Eads makes the best “What the crap am I even doing in this goofy scene?” face ever.
